Girls’ nights are more than a fun excuse to get together — for many women, they’re an essential way to recharge, reconnect, and feel balanced.
New research commissioned by Bezel Wines and conducted by Talker Research found that women say they need a girls’ night about every 22 days. Nearly eight in 10 women surveyed said these gatherings are necessary, not just nice to have.
Connection Comes First
While movies, dancing, cooking, snacks, and drinks all play a role, the heart of a girls’ night is conversation. Eighty-three percent of women said they prefer unstructured talk over planned entertainment, with personal updates, relationships, and family news topping the list of favourite topics.
Wine and Food Set the Tone
For many, wine helps mark the start of the night. The survey found that 88% of women named wine as their beverage of choice for the ultimate girls’ night, and 85% said they open a bottle within 16 minutes of the first guest arriving.
Food is just as important. Charcuterie remains a favourite, but sliders, wings, chips and guacamole, cookies, and cupcakes also make popular appearances.
A Low-Pressure Way to Reconnect
The best part? A memorable girls’ night does not need a formal host or complicated plan. Nearly 60% of women said their friend group has no official host, making the gathering feel flexible and easy.
Whether it includes a movie, dancing in the kitchen, cooking together, or simply catching up over snacks, the real value of a girls’ night is the space it creates for friendship.
Takeaway: Girls’ nights are not just social events — they’re a meaningful reset that helps women stay connected, supported, and recharged.
