Brandon University is hoping to score on its second attempt at hosting a CIS championship.
AD Russ Paddock made a stop on this week’s edition of CKLQ’s Monday Sports Talk and said the next chance for the Bobcats to throw their hat in the ring is right around the corner.
"The details haven’t been announced yet but it will be out this spring to be submitted in May or June probably for 2016 and 2017," said Paddock, "We’ll definitely be looking at putting a bid in for either men or women for one of those years."
BU tested the waters back in 2010 before the Healthy Living Centre was up and running, and lost their bids for the 2014 and 2015 men’s and women’s national volleyball championships.
"We went through the process and I would say have learned over the last few years what some of the other bids were," said Paddock, "The team’s that are hosting this year and next year are the ones we bid against three or four years ago. I’ve seen some of the things they had in their proposal and where we need to go to have to chance to be successful."
Here’s Paddock’s full conversation with Tyler Crayston and Lanny Stewart from this week’s Monday Sports Talk…
