Edmonton, AB (CKLQ) – The Brandon Wheat Kings improved to 3-1-0-0 on their current six game road trip with a 3-1 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings on Wednesday night.
Brandon got multi point nights from Evan Weinger (1G-1A), Connor Gutenberg (1G-1A) and Ty Lewis (2A) on route to their 3rd straight victory.
Kale Clague’s powerplay goal in the 2nd period would be all the insurance the Wheat Kings would need as Dylan Myskiw kicked aside 32 shots for the win.
Unfortunately, for Myskiw the Oil Kings broke his bid for a shutout with a powerplay goal with just over 0:30 seconds left in regulation. However, Myskiw was awarded the game’s first star honours for his effort.
Brandon will continue this road trip on Friday night in Lethbridge before wrapping up on Saturday in Medicine Hat.
