Prince Albert, SK (CKLQ) – The Brandon Wheat Kings four game road trip ended with a thud in Prince Albert on Tuesday night. The Wheat Kings dropped a 6-2 decision to the Prince Albert Raiders to finish the trip 2-2-0-0.
The Wheat Kings were guilty of giving up too many odd many rushes and turning the puck over too many times, especially to the Raiders top line of Curtis Miske (1G-2A), Jordy Stallard (1G) and Cole Fonstad (1G-1A) who combined for six points on the night.
Brandon got two goals from Ty Lewis, who now has four goals in his first two games back from injury.
The Raiders capitalized on their only powerplay chance while the Wheat Kings finished the night 0/2.
Logan Thompson made 36 saves in the losing effort while Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Ian Scott picked up the win by kicking aside 21 shots.
The win draw the Raiders even with the Saskatoon Blades for the #2 Wildcard Spot in the WHL’s Eastern Conference and brings them to within six points of the Wheat Kings with nine games remaining.
Brandon returns home on Friday to take on the Moose Jaw Warriors. (7:30 on QCountry Radio.)
