Brandon, MB (CKLQ) – There will probably be a change in the U Sports rankings next week after another dominating performance by the Brandon Bobcats men’s volleyball team.
The Bobcats, for the second straight night, took down the #1 team in the nation, Trinity Western Spartans, in three sets, to sweep the weekend series.
The Bobcats won 25-22, 25-18, 25-21.
Robin Baghdaddy had 4 aces on the night, along with 8 kills and 2 blocks in the win.
Brandon never had any setbacks during the night, completely dominating the Spartans from start to finish.
The Spartans did not use Steinbach’s Eric Loeppky at all during the game, a day after leading the Spartans on Friday with 12 kills.
Brandon now improves to 12-2 in Canada West action, while the Spartans drop to 9-3 on the year.
Meanwhile, in the women’s game, the Bobcats did not have as much success as they did on Friday, losing to Trinity Western in three straight sets.
The Spartans won 25-12, 25-22, 25-18.
Trinity Western remains undefeated (14-0) with the win, while the Bobcats fall to 3-11.
Both Bobcats teams will head out west to take on Alberta next week.
