The Brandon Wheat Kings dropped their WHL pre-season finale, 2-1 to the Moose Jaw Warriors at Westoba Place on Friday night.
Eric Alaire and Cade Hayes scored powerplay goals for the Warriors, spoiling an excellent outing from Jiri Patera who made 33 saves in his first start since returning from training camp with the Vegas Golden Knights.
Lynden McCallum scored the lone goal for Brandon, his 2nd in as many nights.
The Wheat Kings finished 0/3 on the powerplay while the Warriors converted twice on six opportunities.
Brandon will now turn their attention to the regular-season opener on Friday night vs the Winnipeg ICE.
