It was a seemingly normal day. I was getting my work done quicker than usual and I thought “I should get some fresh air and enjoy the sun”. I make my way to the side employees’ entrance, keys in hand I open the door. My eyes dart down and see the creatures, two of them staring up at me with their beady little eyes. I scream as one darts towards me and my instincts kick in…. well my instincts were to kick. My foot makes contact with the furry bugger and I slam the door shut as they scamper off. After I collect myself from laughing at the ridiculous event I head back outside. Holes. All I can see are newly dug holes all over the station property. If it wasn’t for the destruction they cause, I would think to leave them alone. They can be quite the menace to farms, properties and even yourself! I have had friends twist their ankles in the holes, one last year at the Threshermen’s Reunion. Last Summer I had gone to a friends farm in Sidney and we took the good ol’ .22 and solved it that way but how does one handle a suburban infestation? How do you get rid of a Prairie Dog?
