Neelin’ Spartans standout Emma Ciprick is eager to continue her volleyball career on the East Coast.
Ciprick has signed with Souris-born Rick Scott and his Dalhousie Tigers for the 2014-2015 CIS season.
"Both academically and volleyball wise is seemed like the best place," Ciprick told CKLQ’s Tyler Crayston. "They have a great school and a great team and when I went there I absolutely fell in love with it and I felt like I fit in really well with all the girls. I felt like it was just the right fit."
Ciprick made the jump to the AAAA level for her senior high school season and helped Neelin to a runner-up finish at provincials.
In 2012, the Binscarth product was named tournament MVP and led the Major Pratt Trojans to a ‘AA’ championship.
"It’s really awesome to see my dreams coming true, but I know that it I want to be competitive that I have to work really hard throughout the summer and throughout all the years that I’m playing volleyball and I’m prepared to do that because it’s what I love," said Ciprick.
Ciprick becomes the seventh Spartan to sign a CIS deal with Alison Quiring putting pen to paper with the Trinity Western Spartans, Amy Gordon is joining the Mount Royal Cougars, Jamie Campbell has committed to the Brandon Bobcats, Kristine Ward inked a deal with the Regina Cougars, Tori Studler has signed with the Manitoba Bisons while Paige Thomson is taking the basketball route with the Victoria Vikes.
