While in these times of increased sensitivity concerning matters of race and stereotype this might land me in hot water… I dance like a White Guy.
It’s mostly a half stumble that then transitions into a lurch, before reversing direction. I modify the pace depending on the speed of the music. That’s it. THAT is my A game. So, you can well imagine that I don’t have a lot of skin in the game as far as when Manitoba lifts its current restrictions on Dance floors.
If I owned a Night Club or a Bar, I might feel a little differently. The Hospitality trade is HURTING right now, and more than a few of your favorite watering holes might not make it back. When Phase 3 was originally suggested, a part of it was a return to Dance Floors and walk up bar service. However, when the plan was released it specifically excluded both of those.
The Phase 3 draft plan can be seen here – but the relevant part is this.
“Businesses must continue to implement measures to ensure that members of the public are seated at a table, and are reasonably able to maintain a separation of at least two metres from others, except for brief exchanges. Standing service is not allowed. Dance floors are to remain closed.”
Are you ready to hit the dance floor anytime soon? I’ve been working on my moves.
