As protests continue in support of Black Lives Matter, and ending systemic racism in the U-S and Canada, interest is growing about renaming a downtown Brandon street.
Rosser Avenue is named after Thomas Lafayette Rosser, a CP engineer who also fought to preserve slavery as a Confederate General in the American Civil War.
Local doctor Derry Decter has started a Facebook campaign to rename street, and mayor Rick Chrest says he’s open to discussing the idea.
