Look for big changes Friday when Landmark Cinemas opens it’s doors for the first time in weeks, as we continue into phase 4 re-openings in Manitoba. One of the most surprising changes in the movies you’ll be able to see this weekend. Friday it is going to be like a trip back in time. Some of the movies that will initially show on Brandon‘s big screens will be a “blast from the past” including Harry Potter and the Sorcerer‘s Stone, Star Wars the Force Awakens, Jurassic Park, and the classic, Dirty Dancing. One of my childhood favorites, The Goonies, will once again be on the big screen, as well look for Raiders of the Lost Ark, the horror movie Friday the 13th, and Jaws, just to name a few.
There will also be new safety procedures in place starting Friday, encouraging all guests to purchase their movie tickets in advance online or at the automated box office kiosk. Physical distancing for guests is compulsory, and the theater also asks that you arrive no sooner than 20 minutes before your movie’s scheduled showtime. Watch for distancing signs and special guidance from employees, and because theaters have reduced capacities by over 50% in the recliner theatres and 75% in traditional seating locations, expect much smaller groups than normal when movies come back starting this weekend!
