34 churches and other church groups in Manitoba and across the country have written an open letter to Pastor Leon Fontaine and the members of Springs Church calling on the church to cease all legal action against the province.
Springs had filed an injunction Friday against the COVID-19 public health order banning religious gatherings including drive-in services. On Saturday, it lost the court fight and moved 4 weekend services online. Springs had been fined over $32,000 for holding drive-in services last weekend.
Meanwhile, the Church of God Restoration, south of Steinbach, held another drive-in service on Sunday. About two dozen cars were seen in the parking lot and fines were reportedly issued.
