Like a TON of other 40 Somethings, when I saw that the Province had decided to follow Ontario and Albertas lead and make the Astra Zenaca Vaccine widely available to us – I jumped at the chance. read more about that HERE. What’s right for YOU? That’s a question and a conversation you should have with your Doctor. No one knows your Personal History better, it’s a good time to talk to someone you trust.
That being said, IF you want to book one this is how I went about it. My first stop was the Provinces “COVID-19 Vaccine Shot Finder” This tool allowed me to see the Pharmacies and Medical Clinics that were taking appointments. For me, the Pharmacy Sara and I use was a good choice, again having already talked to my Doctor about it.
That simplified things for me substantially as I now could used THIS tool to book online. https://www.pharmacyappointments.ca/ . You’ll need your Manitoba Medical card, a valid email address, access to a printer and the info on your Drivers License.
I noticed at the time that the website was still saying 55+, but knew that it simply had not been changed yet. From there I booked my appointment by location and time, printed up my response which was emailed to me and headed out to get my shot. Once there the Pharmacy had some paper work for me to fill out (again all the info was on my Manitoba medical card and my drivers license). After a short wait I got the needle (my rule is you you complain about getting needles, you aren’t allowed any more tattoos. Works for me.) then hung around for 15 minutes while I was being monitored.
On my way home I grabbed a bottle of Lindemans Cawarra (unsolicited plug) and now it’s behind me.
This path may or may not be right for you, or work for you – but I thought it might help a few people navigate it all.
Health and Happiness.
