Minnedosa Heritage Day


The Minnedosa Heritage Day is happening Sunday, August 18th from 10am to 4pm at the Heritage Village.
Come out to Minnedosa District Museum and Heritage Village for Heritage Day August 18th . Event opens at 10:00 a.m. and runs till 4:00 p.m.
This year the Red River Métis will be dedicating a plaque with the names of local Métis families . Also there will be traditional dances and Métis fiddlers providing entertainment, this starts at 1:00 p.m.
The rest of the day you can take in the Manitoba Muzzle Loaders with their period campsite. There will be a Métis trapper display set up.
The Victoria Quilter from Neepawa will be hold in a quilt show in the Hunterville church.
For the kiddies there is the kids train, face painting, critter dipping, bean bag toss, carpet bowling, bird house building for 10 and under, along with free bubbles.
Local crafters will be onsite with displays of wood carving, knitting, leather work, and Métis sashes .
Other exhibits include a Blacksmith, rope making, butter making, spinning wheel.
Local UCT will be onsite selling 50/50 tickets with the grand prize to be announced later in the day.
Waves of Hope will be selling tickets for a draw for a Kayak. Red River Métis will be selling 50/50 tickets.
Concession will be opened from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. selling hot dogs, hamburgers, pop , chips and water.
Red River Métis will be selling deep fried bannock (bangs) .
Entrance to the sight is by donation and food sales are cash only. Free tours of all the buildings.
