BPS arrested a man reportedly carrying a pellet gun on Louise Avenue Monday afternoon

Schools in the area went into 'secure and hold' prior to the suspect's arrest

On March 20, 2023, at approximately 2:00 pm, Brandon police responded to a report of a male who was observed with a handgun in the 500 block of Louise Avenue. Schools in the area were advised to ‘secure and hold’ while police searched the area for the suspect. Police located a 28-year-old male matching the description in the 200 block of 5th street. Police say he was arrested and found to be carrying a pellet gun, which was contrary to his Probation conditions. The suspect was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Carry Concealed Weapon, Possess Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace and Fail to Comply with Probation.

On March 20, 2023, police received a report of a break and enter which occurred to a business compound in the 400 block of Park Ave E sometime after March 17. On March 21, 2023, shortly before 5:00 am, Brandon police responded to a report of an assault in a residence. Investigation revealed that two individuals had reportedly assaulted each other, and they were both arrested. A 27-year-old male will appear in court on May 11, 2023 on charges of Assault and Assault by Choking. A 29-year-old female will appear in court on a charge of Assault.

On March 21, 2023 at approximately 4:30 am, police conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Frederick Street. The 27-year-old female driver initially provided police with a false name, as she was a suspended driver. She also allegedly consumed what police believed to be a small amount of illicit drugs. She was arrested and later released to appear in court on May 11, 2023 on a charge of Public Mischief. She was also provided medical attention due to her suspected drug consumption.

On March 20, 2023 shortly after 10:00 pm, Brandon police came across a 16-year-old female pedestrian on Silverbirch Drive, who was wanted on an outstanding WOA with charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order. Upon her arrest, she was found in possession of a knife contrary to her release order, and she was to abide by a daily curfew. She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

On March 20, 2023 at approximately 10:30 pm, police conducted a traffic stop in the 1700 block of Victoria Avenue. The driver was to abide by a 24-hour curfew. The 49-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

On March 21, 2023 shortly after midnight, Brandon police responded to a report of a male who was contacting an individual with whom he was to have no contact with due to an assault the previous day. A 24-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on a charge of Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

On March 20, 2023, police located and arrested two female youth who were wanted on outstanding charges. A 13-year-old female was also found to be on conditions not to communicate with the other youth. She was lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court on charges of Fail to Comply with Undertaking X2 and Assault. A 12-year-old female was also lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court on charges of Assault and Cause Disturbance.

On March 20, 2023, Brandon police responded to a report of an unwanted male at a residence. The male was refusing to leave and was arguing with residents while he was to comply with conditions not to have any communication with them. The 34-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today.
