A couple of special meetings are also planned this week

At Brandon City Council Tuesday, September 20th, city staff is recommending councillors approve a development and servicing agreement with three local First Nations, and the Rural Municipality of Elton, for land just south of the airport.
Waywayseecappo, Rolling River and Keeseekoowenin First Nations have applied to the federal government to create a reserve in the RM, and the agreement would ensure water and sewer services are available on the site.
Back in 2009, First Nations' efforts to build a casino on the land fell through.
And also at council this week, the Brandon General Museum and Archives will provide an update on its operations, and will make a request that its annual funding be doubled to $80,000.
And two 'special meetings' are also planned this week. Tuesday afternoon, councillors are expected to hear a recommendation about what can be done about the abandoned Esso gas station on Rosser Avenue - and on Wednesday, an issue related to the police board and a provincial arts, culture and sports grant will be discussed.
