At 2:40 am on Sunday morning (May 22), a man from a residence in the 500 block of 13th Street reported a male had entered their residence and attempted to assault his daughter. The female victim was woken by a man standing in the doorway of her room. When she got out of bed, he pinned her on the bed and attempted to sexually assault her. The father heard the commotion and yelled at the man who ran from the residence and was last seen running north on 13th Street. Officers attended and established a perimeter and the Police Service Dog Unit attempted a track but the suspect was not located. The Forensic Identification Unit was called to attend the scene as well.
The suspect is described as early 20’s in age, 5ft 8 in to 5 ft 10 in, Indigenous in appearance, husky to fat build, acne on his face and shoulders and a buzz cut hair cut that had overgrown. The suspect was wearing only boxer shorts.
Police investigators are asking anyone who lives in this area, or who may have been in the area on May 22, 2022 before or after 2:40 am to reach out to them if you noticed anything suspicious.
