The ice rink at the Brandon Community Sportsplex has been temporarily closed ‘due to deficiencies within the ice plant that pose a safety risk to the public and facility staff.”
The city says “once issues with the ice plant are resolved, a re-opening date will be communicated with the public.”
Hours of operation for the facility’s pool, racquetball courts and outdoor track will not be impacted by the ice arena’s closure.

The Sportsplex pool has also had issues. It had been closed for a time in 2021 to deal with mechanical and plumbing problems.
