A comprehensive review of the Brandon University Bobcats and Athletics unit provides a series of recommendations that will strengthen and enhance both operations and programming. Brandon University welcomes these recommendations as an opportunity to ensure that BU Athletics is at the forefront of providing a safe sport experience for everyone, this in a media release on Monday (Mar 13).
In the interests of transparency and accountability, Brandon University is releasing the full text of the review to the public. This proactive release is the recommendation of BU senior administration, as approved by the Audit and Risk committee of the BU Board of Governors.
The 36 separate recommendations have been accepted by BU, and focus on safe sport for everyone, including student-athletes, coaches, and for everyone in BU Athletics and across campus. Many have already been implemented or are in progress.
While no set of policies can prevent every incident, the recommendations contained in this external, third-party, and independent review gives the university confidence that the campus community will be best placed to respond to any incident in the future.
