The Brandon Wheat Kings continue their 5-game road trip in Swift Current against the Broncos tonight (Nov 15)
After a stunning win at home over the Red Deer Rebels last Friday, the Wheat Kings suffered an 8-3 loss at the hands of the Winnipeg Ice inside Wayne Fleming Arena Saturday night. In a game, where the Wheat Kings got themselves into penalty trouble midway though the game, the potent offense of the Ice took over scoring 3 goals in the second period and then 3 more in the third period. One Wheat King player who had a solid game was Rylen Roersma who scored a pair of goals. It was only the second time all season where a Wheat King player had a multi goal game.
Tonight will be the first meeting this season between the Wheat Kings and Bronocs. Swift Current has a great foundation of young prospects and draft picks, including Pittsburgh Penguins first rounder Owen Pickering. The Broncos have also won 7 of their last 9 games. After tonight, the Wheat Kings are in Medicine Hat on Wednesday, in Edmonton on Friday - and Saturday night in Red Deer. Q Country 91.5 and 880 AM will have tonight's pre-game show at 6:45 pm, followed by the puck drop at 7:00 pm.
