The City of Brandon is keeping the temporary dike in place at Grand Valley Road and 18th Street until further notice to make sure they can respond quickly to any unforeseen surge of water.
The City says even though the water level at the Rivers Reservoir is slowing receding, it still remains at flood stage, approximately 2 feet above its spillway.
Meanwhile, the water level in the Assiniboine River in Brandon continues to decrease, as it was measured at 354.86 meters Friday (July 24) morning a drop of just over 3 meters in the last three weeks.
