Brandon Bobcats’ grad Emerick Ravier recently captured some international hardware and he’s hoping it’ll lead to putting pen to paper on a pro contract overseas.
Ravier and a group of Canadian players won a prestigious six-team summer league championship in Italy, which was attended by scouts and general managers from all over Europe.
"On top of winning, it was just a great opportunity for us to be seen and just really to know how our skills will match in the pro level, especially in Europe. It was a great experience for me," Ravier told CKLQ’s Tyler Crayston."
Ravier led the Bobcats in scoring in his senior year in the Canada West conference, averaging 13.1 points per-game.
It was his first full season after suffering a torn ACL in January of 2012.
"No doubt I’ll be able to get a pro contract," said Ravier. "Now it’s just for me to keep working hard and getting better every day. I’m not in a hurry, I know the opportunity will come, it’s just about for me to be ready and just keep working hard and not let down."
