Irwin Claims Brandon Men's Bonspiel

  A solid weekend of preparation for Steve Irwin has he captured his first ever Brandon Men's Bonspiel title.  
  Irwin stole a pair in the fourth end and got past Rob Fowler 6-4 in Sunday's Final.  
  "We haven't played together since the Regionals so it was good to have a team weekend.  We played maximum games so that's good," said Irwin, "We got eight games and played on some tricky ice and jelled very well together.  We're playing pretty well going into Provincials."  
  Irwin defeated Glenn Parrott 5-1 while Fowler knocked off Kelly Marnoch 6-5 in the semifinals.  
  Parrott was the highest finisher among eligible teams and secured the available berth into the Safeway Championship.  
  "What I really feel happy about is the guys I'm curling with haven't got one yet and it's their first time," said Parrott, "It's going to be a great experience going with them and having the excitement of them being at a Provincials for the first time."  
  The Safeway Championship will be held from January 29 - February 2 at the MTS IcePlex in Winnipeg. Brandon Men's Bonspiel Results Competitive Division Final
