The Brandon Wheat Kings host the Regina Pats tonight (Jan 4).

Regina will be without their star player, Connor Bedard, who's playing for Team Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championships. The doors open at 5:00 pm this afternoon at Westoba Place - and you're welcome to come early to watch Canada battle the U-S in the semi-finals.

The Pats are coming off a split with the Prince Albert Raiders last weekend. Brandon dropped its New Year's Eve game to Moose Jaw 6-2.

The last time the Wheat Kings and Pats went head to head was December 28th when Carson Bjarnason shutout the Pats stopping all 19 shots he faced. The Wheat Kings got production from forward Brett Hyland who picked up a goal and an assist in the 4-0 road victory. Couple noteworthy stats from that game was on the faceoff dot where the Wheat Kings won 37 of 52 faceoffs last Wednesday. They also got production from 3 different lines with Tony Wilson scoring his first as a Wheat King.

Brett Hyland currently has 11 goals scored in his last 10 games. Forward Nate Danielson has been stellar as of late scoring 28 points in his last 18 games. Nolan Ritchie has 19 points in his last 14 games. Calder Anderson has 13 points in his last 8 games.

Q Country 91.5 FM and 880 AM will have today's pre-game show at 6:30 pm - folowed by the puck drop and play-by-play with Chase Johnston at 7:00 pm.
