In a media release, Portage la Prairie RCMP report that on “June 9, 2023, as a result of an ongoing investigation into the trafficking of a Controlled Substance, officers with the Portage la Prairie RCMP General Investigative Section (GIS), along with officers from the Portage Detachment, executed a search warrant at a residence located on Fisher Avenue in the City of Portage la Prairie.
A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of heroin, numerous bottles of illicit pills, several weapons, drug related paraphernalia and a large amount of stolen property.
Officers arrested Ernest Gregory, 31, of Long Plain First Nation, who was remanded into custody on charges including Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime x2, Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon x2 and Trafficking in Government Documents.
Portage la Prairie RCMP continue to investigate.”
