Fewer COVID-19 enforcement fines were handed out last week, but the dollar amount was still over $22,000.
The province says, from February 22 to 28, a total of 166 warnings and 17 tickets were issued, totaling $22,454.
The tickets handed out include;
– eight $1,296 tickets to individuals for various offences;
– seven $298 tickets to individuals for failure to wear a mask in indoor public places; and
– two $5,000 tickets to a business.
Seven of the eight $1,296 tickets issued last week were in relation to gatherings in private residences or outdoors.
Since enforcement efforts began in April 2020, a total of 3,302 warnings and 1,009 tickets have been issued, resulting in more than $1.3 million in fines to businesses and individuals.
