RCMP are investigating a shooting incident Thursday (July 1) night in Dauphin that resulted in a 25-year-old man being injured.
At approximately 11:30 pm, officers say the victim was walking on the sidewalk, on 5th Avenue NE, when he received gunshot wounds to his lower body. Police determined the shots came from inside a home in the area.
After containing the area around the residence they say the suspect, an 18-year-old man, exited the house and was arrested without incident. There had been other people in the home at the time, but there were no other injuries.
RCMP also say the suspect and the victim knew each other.
The 18-year-old remains in custody with pending charges, while the victim was transported to a Winnipeg hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
