Shotgun used to blast out window at a home in Brandon

Brandon police are looking for whoever blasted a window with a shotgun at a home on Princess Avenue.

It happened at around 2:00 this morning officers found a blown-out bedroom window, and pellets and wadding from the shotgun shell inside the room.

Police say no-one in the home was hurt.

Two women were arrested Monday (June 29) after a man was allegedly attacked with a machete. 

Brandon police say the victim, who suffered a bad cut to the hand, reported the attack at the police station before being taken to hospital. 

Officers found a machete on 8th Street, and arrested a 26-year-old Sioux Valley woman nearby a second woman was arrested later.

Brandon police are investigating an assault at Brandon Correctional Center that happened back on June 11.

Police say an inmate attacked his cellmate by kicking and punching him repeatedly in the head and face. The victim suffered significant head and facial injuries, as well as a broken ankle. 

A 26-year-old inmate was arrested Monday (June 29) and charged with assault.
