The City of Brandon’s Solid Waste Section wishes to advise the public that they have begun a controlled incineration process of wood waste material at the Eastview Landfill Site (432 – 33rd Street East #765).
The City of Brandon obtained a Notice of Alteration to its existing Landfill Environment Act License 3149 from Manitoba Conservation and Climate, Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Branch, in order to conduct the incineration process on site at the Eastview Landfill.
Approximately 40,000 m3 of wood waste material will be incinerated as part of this process. During this process, the incineration of material will only occur during regular operating hours of the Eastview Landfill and will be monitored during the operation of the incinerator by the Contractor hired.
The Solid Waste Section applied for and received the proper permit from Brandon Fire and Emergency Services. It is anticipated the burning should be completed by April 30th, 2022.
The City of Brandon asks that all members of the public use caution when travelling past the designated area while in the Eastview Landfill Site, until the incineration process has been completed.
