The Brandon Wheat Kings continue their road swing in Medicine Hat tonight (Nov 16) against the Tigers.
Last night (Nov 15), the Wheat Kings started out their Central Division Road Trip with a tough loss in Swift Current. It was a game that started out very well for the Wheat Kings who were off to a 13-4 lead in shots and a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes, but the Broncos came out flying in the 2nd period scoring 3 goals, one on the powerplay and one of them shorthanded. It was the 4th shorthanded goal allowed by the Wheat Kings in the last 3 games. The Brandon Wheat Kings currently lead the league in most shorthanded goals allowed with 8. Last season they only allowed a total of 5.
Tonight (Nov 16), Brandon will look to get back on track and get revenge against the Medicine Hat Tigers. Last time these two clubs met it was on the tail end of their 15 day B-C Road Trip where the Tigers defeated the Wheat Kings by a score of 5-1. It was a game where the Wheat Kings came out flat footed allowing 3 goals in the opening frame forcing them to chase the game. Special Teams was also a factor with the Tigers scoring 3 powerplay goals and adding a shorthanded tally.
Tonight's game between the Wheat Kings and Tigers begins with the pre-game show at 7:45 pm on Q Country 91.5 & 880 AM followed by the face-off and play-by-play with Chase Johnston at 8:00 pm.
