Self-administered DNA tests have been popular for a few years now. You have a few different choices like 23-and-Me. People use them to maybe find long-lost family members or look into potential health issues. What happens when the test completely backfires on you? I’m not talking “oh no I have high blood pressure” backfire. I am talking ” What do you mean my boyfriend is related to me!?” BACKFIRED! Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened to a woman in Saskatchewan.
Now, before we start assuming things, here is some of her history.
She never really knew her biological father and her mother was adopted. That alone leaves a major gap in one’s family tree.
Her boyfriend bought two tests as they were on sale and they decided it would be a fun thing to do.
The woman not knowing her extended family was more so interested in any potential health issues.
When the results came back, she noticed that a distant cousin had the same name as her boyfriend….. and then it all unfolded.
The two are no longer together.
