I Just Don’t Get It

Last night I witnessed such a blatant disregard for current Covid restrictions that it completely set me off for a number of reasons.  A couple of groups gathered around outdoor picnic tables clearly roped off and not to be used during current guidelines.  Six people crammed at a table for 4 that has been roped off!  Just over from them was a group of women, a couple at the closed table and others gathered around in lawn chairs, no where near socially distanced.  What surprised me the most was the age of these two groups.  They were not kids, not teenagers, not even young or middle age adults – they were old enough to know better!  I found it highly disrespectful to the restaurant who are doing everything possible to keep things safe for their customers and following guidelines by closing the tables.  Mostly I found it disrespectful to people who are following the rules and regulations set forth in hopes of returning to as normal as possible sometime soon.  I fully respect that everyone has their own opinions and thoughts about Covid, and vaccinations, and restrictions but the guidelines are in place for a reason and apply to everyone whether we agree with them or not.  Can we please just do what we’re asked instead of bucking the system?  The reason restrictions keep being extended is because a select group refuse to follow guidelines.  Check the link below if you are unsure of what those current restrictions and guidelines are.
