Just when we think we've got phone scams figured out another one pops up with new and innovative ways to get you to answer their call. I never answer calls from 1-800 numbers, out of country calls, or any that say No Caller ID. I figure if it's a legitimate, important call they will leave me a voicemail and I will call back. Something relatively new that is happening with phone scammers is number cloning. They actually clone local numbers so it looks like the calls are coming from our own area making them look legitimate. I know it's been said again and again but.... NEVER give out personal information to someone who calls, unless of course you initiated the call and are 100 percent certain of who you are talking to. Fraud and Identity Theft - it's a thing.
